Line Comes to Town!
This much-loved musicial is coming to Melbourne! Opening on the 4th of February, an all-new Australian production is directed and re-staged by Baayork Lee, one of the original cast members and inspirations from the Tony Award® winning 1975 production.

Josh Horner (Billy Elliot on Broadway, Tivoli, Dirty Dancing, Dancing With the Stars)  will play Broadway director, Zach. Australian star of the West End, Anita Louise Combe, is starring as Cassie who has a ppeared on stage as Sillabub in the Australian Premiere Production of Cats followed by Cosette in Les Miserables.

Ausdance Vic is excited that a major dance musical is coming to Victoria! Great news for dance lovers out there!

Shake The House
Dancehouse is opening up the house for a free weekend of classes.

They will be taught by a great bunch of the teachers from their diverse public program. The open weekend will give you a taste of what is on offer in 2012 - most classes can accommodate beginners so sample as many as you like.

You can never do too much dancing!

The Australian Ballet's 50th Anniversary Season

In 2012, The Australian Ballet celebrates its 50th birthday with ballets of the past, present and future.

Featuring masterworks from their repertoire, five world premieres, and a new traditional production of Swan Lake, this is one birthday party you’ll want to be a part of.

The Australian Ballet’s 50th year starts off with a bang!
Infinity
The Australian Ballet opens its milestone 50th year with a bold statement about the future of dance. Infinity will see the world premiere of three specially commissioned Australian works by Graeme Murphy, Gideon Obarzanek and Stephen Page.

Stephen Page leads a new collaboration between Bangarra Dance Theatre and The Australian Ballet: Warumuk – in the dark night. Set to a score by award-winning composer David Page, the piece tells a traditional Indigenous story

Completing the triple bill are works by the former artistic director of Chunky Move Gideon Obarzanek, who subverts Swan Lake in There’s Definitely a Prince Involved, and Graeme Murphy, who strips ballet back to its bare essentials in The Narrative of Nothing.
